Abortion Pill FAQs

Is it safe to order abortion pills online?

The FDA warns against online ordering due to a lack of safety measures. When you don't receive the abortion pills directly from your doctor or pharmacist, there's no guarantee you are receiving what you ordered.

Is everyone eligible for abortion pills? How late can they be taken?

No. There are many restrictions, including health history, the type of pregnancy, how far along you are, and more. Learn more about side effects, potential allergic reactions, what to expect if it fails, and more. An ultrasound can detect if a pregnancy is located inside the uterus, where it should be. If there is no intrauterine pregnancy, you may be experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, a life-threatening condition that requires immediate emergency medical attention. Abortion pills are FDA-approved through 10 weeks.

How often do abortion pills work? What is the process? Do you have to take both pills?

At your consultation, we will walk through how it works, what to expect, what to do in case of an emergency, and more. We can also discuss your options if the abortion fails or if you only took the first pill.

How can an ultrasound help?

An ultrasound can confirm the location of the pregnancy, estimate your due date, rule out an ectopic pregnancy, and more. While we do not provide or refer for abortion services, an ultrasound is a recommended health and safety step.

Abortion Pill Safety Steps

An ultrasound is an important health and safety step that can confirm if the pregnancy is viable and discover exactly how far along you are. This information can determine your options, and in many cases, it can determine the price or cost of an abortion as well. If you are having a naturally occurring miscarriage, the results may make an abortion unnecessary.

We can also discuss your health history, medications, and anything else that could impact your options and decision. If you have an IUD in place, are at risk for an STD, or are Rh-negative, we can provide additional information and referrals for anything you need to do before or after an abortion.
